Wings win 5 straight // Wings gagne 5 de consecutive

Friday nights game put the Sharks up against the red hot Red Wings. With their 5-1 win at Joe Louis Arena they are on a 5 game winning streak. With wins aigainst the Sharks, Coyotes, Canucks and aigain the Sharks. Valtteri Filppula, Andreas Lilja, Kirk Maltby and Henrik Zenterberg (2) scored for the Wings. Henrik continues his scoring streak. Their next game is against the Canucks sunday.

Wings survive desert // Wings survive le désert

Saturdays night game between the Red Wings and the Coyotes was a good game for the Wings. The Wings Jiri Hudler scored. Kirk Maltby added two goals with Brett Lebda and Henrik Zenterberg scored for the Red Wings. Henrik is on a 6 game scoring streak. It's his career best. The Wings won 5-2. Mike Babcock would like if Kirk would score more. On the other hand the Dominator saved 19 out of 21 shots. This ends a great road trip for the Wings. Zenterberg said that the only thing that was wrong on this trip was a lost to Anaheim. On this road trip the Wings were 3-1-0. The Red Wings are now 6-2-1 and sit in first place in the central division. There next game is on Wednesday, 24 against the Vancouver Canucks at Joe Louis arena.

Wings get tomahwaked // Wings se font tomahawker

Last nights game had the Red Wings snap their 2 game winning streak by the Chicago Blackhawks. Last years star player for the Wings Robert Lang now with Chicago scored two goals and added the winning one midway thru the third period when he fierd a one-timer and hit the Dominator shoulder then crossed the line for a goal. The Wings started of with a great 2-0 lead after the first. In the 2 period the Blackhawks bonced right back with two goals of their own. Then in the Third period Lang scored the game winning goal. If the Wings cant hold on to a 2-0 lead they might be in trouble .

Si les Wings peuvent pas retenir une avance de deux but ils vont être en trouble cette année

Wings put out Flames // Wings éteigne les Flames

The Wings put out the Calgary Flames last night with a big win by the score of 4-2. Chris Osgood stoped 19 out of 21 shots for the Wings. The Red hot Wings power play was just to much for the Flames. The Dominator did not play because of a bruise to his left kneecap. Henrik Zentterberg, Thomas Holmstrom, Kris Draper and Micheal Samuelsson scored for the Red Wings. The next game for the Red Wings is on the 12 against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Last nights game put the Edmonton Oilers in the losing colom for the first time this season.

The Wings foward Micheal Samuelsson scored the first goal for the Red Wings Chris Chelios,

Thomas Holmstrom and Kris Draper added goals for the wings. On the other side of the rink the Oilers Shawn Horcoff and Andrew Cogliano scored for the Oilers. But the wings came thru and won 4-2 in regulation time. The Red Wings are now 2-0-1 and the OIlers are 2-1-0. Detroit is now first in the central division. To look at the standings click here.

Todays matchup between the Detroit Red Wings and the Edmonton Oilers chould be a very interesting game to watch. The Edmonton Oilers (2-0-0) come into Joe Louis arena facing the Detroit Red Wings (1-0-1). These two teams do matchup almost evenly. Franzen sidelined for 3 to 4 weeks// Franzen blesser pour 3 a 4 semaine

Red wings foward Johan Franzen is indefinetly out for 3 to 4 weeks with a severe grade 2 sprain to his right collateral ligament. Wings general manager Ken Holland said sunday that either Matt Ellis or Aaron Downey will replace Franzen on the line of Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom in mondays game versus the Edmonton Oilers.

He also said that nobody will be called up or re-called from Grand Rapids. It is a great lost to the red wings considering that Franzen had a great pre-season. I encourage you to click here.

What a great sport for a 13 year-old boy that loves this game. My favorite team in the NHL is the Detroit red wings. The reason behind this is that my grandmother loves this great team with such succesful years. My favorite player in this team was Steve Yzerman who is now retierd but yet still in my little hockey heart.
